im four months pregnant and my boss is giving me a hard time. hes always making comments about how i need to speed things up and peform all duties no matter what. even when i have a doctors appointment i give me a week or two an advance to take off he says it’s fine no problem but when the day comes to when i dont show up for work and when i return he complains and says that its a problems( but i dont understand then why he gives me permission then complain )
and always threating to hire someone that could perform faster than me. hes always picking on me and making comments in front of other employees, can he do that what can i do i know i have rights please advice thanks
It is wrong. Keep a record of everything that he does with time and date. Let him know (very discreetly and quietly) that this is discrimination and it’s not acceptable anymore. Keep up with your work and maintain a very professional attitude. If other employees see that you’re doing a good job and you’re good to be around, they will support you.
Also, although you’re probably very excited about your pregnancy, other people may not share the joy. Try keeping your excitement and complaints under wraps at the office. It’s not the appropriate place to air out all the news. The more you point out how pregnant you are, the more it may draw attention to how you are different from the rest of the work team and that could cause more trouble.
