hey… Well heres the thing. I will be 20 in March 09 and will be moving in with my fiancee of 6 years around June time 09. We both have good jobs. My partner is 23 and earns good money. We both want a baby quite desperatly but not just yet(we want to move in first). Do you reckon we should start trying next year or do u think its to early. We are in a extremely stable relationship and we dont go out drinking and partying because it does not appeal to us. I know some of you may say live your life while your young but we honestly are one of those couples that stay at home with a film and glass of wine, or maybe go to the cinema and we love going for meals to nice resturants. All i can think of is our little baby and it seems so long away. A family is really important to me and my fiancee. Do u think we are too young to start a family next year. i will be 21, him 24?xxx
Well we are engaged so i think that is showing commitment. My partner is wonderful. We will marry eventually when the time is right. i think getting engaged shows how much you want to be together, whereas marriage is a huge commitment (not that we would break it off) At the end of the day it is a certificate.

No, i don’t think you are too young.

From what you have read you would make good-strong parents providing your relationship is a stable one and you both are able to financially support yourselves and a baby.

If your ready and have thought about it and spoken about it for some time, then by all means go ahead.

Good Luck, i’m 19 and can’t wait to start a family.

If you could fire your boss?

Archived in the category: Fire Your Boss

Would you?

I go to college so I won’t have to put up with his BS much longer.

this is probably the rudest thing you’ll ever hear me say but the man doesn’t even deserve to be called a man. He has no respect for anyone. We slave our butts to keep his joke of a company together and don’t even get a thank you once in a while.

I would like to find a legit work from home opportunity. I’ve done yahoo searches but I just can’t seem to find anything that seems legit. I have 3 yrs of telemarketing experience and at least 1 yr of secretarial experience. It would be nice if I could find like an inbound telemarketing position from home or a data entry position from home. Does anyone know of any legit work from home opportunities? Are there any websites that list work from home opportunities?

I know many people don’t like reading people’s sob stories, but this is my last option. I’ve tried applying for jobs but I never recieve a call back, and when I do recieve a call back I get supremely happy only to discover the job is a scam such as a perfume company I was working at. Currently, I’m 18 years old, I’m living in an apartment with the rent and utilities coming to $720-$800 per month, I’ve recently gotten married (December 31st), I’m nearly 6 months pregnant with a baby girl, my husband works at UPS earning barely $400 per month, my dad pays for our rent and utilities, he paid for my car, he pays for my car insurance, my gas, and he’s paid for nearly everything that I own. I feel bad about my dad paying for everything, especially since he’s running out of money and he worked hard for his money with the federal government for over 30 years, and I’ve wanted to re-pay him for everything he has given me. But I currently do not see how I am going to be able to do that when I’ve had an unexpected pregnancy, I’m unemployed and have tried very hard to become employed with no success, my husband doesn’t make enough to cover even half of our rent, and I’m afraid that if things don’t change I’m going to lose my baby girl to social services. Even though my pregnancy was unplanned, I still want to take care of her and not put her in the system of social services because I’ve gone through the system twice and no matter what people say, I know that it is not a good system to live in. I want to make a better life for my baby, but with unemployment rates spikeing, and hardly any income coming in, I don’t know how to do that. Please, someone help me find a way to make a better life for my baby! This is truly my last hope. I want to keep my baby very badly, and I want her to grow up and be happy while knowing and living with her biological parents which is something I never got to do, but I’ve run out of resources and options. Someone, please help me find a way of making income to support my daughter, husband and I. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope someone responds.
To add some further details, my husband just started working at UPS. Currently, they only let him work a total of 25 hours per week, but after he works there for 90 days they’ll start letting him work over time to earn more money. We are both currently working on getting our high school diplomas as well, and because I am adopted I am covered as far as health insurance goes until I’m 21 or if I move out of Colorado I lose my health insurance. At one point, my husband and I were working at Onyx Wholesale, and after working there for a while, we were never paid the hourly wage we were told. To be 100% honest, the most money we saw from that place was 5$. My husband hates living off my dad, and he’s always trying to find ways to earn more money to pay my dad back with no luck. In our apartment we live with 3 other people. 1 stays in our living room and the other 2 live in the other bedroom. The car is used for transportation for work because my husband works nights.
As far as selling items on craigslist, we’ve been working on doing that for $568/month) however we can’t move into those apartments until our current lease is up otherwise we lose our security deposit (750$). For some people that wouldn’t seem like a lot, but for us that’s like a gold mine in the great depression era. Currently, I do have one possible job opportunity, however, every time that I call to see if they’ve processed my application so I can begin working and earning money, they say that they’re either over-employed, or, as they said last time I called, I have to wait until March to begin working. Back when I was living with larger incomes, I would have said ‘I can wait. I’m patient’, however, with the bills piling up I don’t have that kind of time. I need something to bring in enough money to pay rent at the very least.
My other issue that I have is that I don’t even know if I’m going to be a good mother. I’m worried that my daughter will hate me and bicker with me just as my adoptive mother and I do. I’m worried that when my daughter and I go to the store to get some food to put on the table, that she’ll pick up a doll and that I’ll have to tell her that we can’t afford it. One of my biggest concerns of all is that I’m worried that our daughter won’t be happy. On her birthday (which my due date is May 10), all she’ll get is a cheap hand made card as a gift, and on Christmas she won’t even understand the meaning of giving and recieving because she might not even recieve anything. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m worried that the only things I’ll be able to buy my daughter is food with my food stamps and nothing more.

Are the gas prices making you want to exchange your car for a bicycle? Why are gas prices so high? One reason gas prices are so high is, because of conflicts going on in the world. One of the conflicts in the world is located in Nigeria, that have cut exports to the United States. The United States depends so much on oil that when oil prices go up it sparks interest on conserving oil. Since oil is an important part of modern life ,I chose to research oil for my summer assignment. There is a war going on over seas. I am not talking about the one that we are always hearing about in the news, Lebanon and Iraq. I am talking about the conflicts going on in the Nigerian Delta over oil. This little known part of the world is our nations fifth largest supplier. If Americans don’t want to ride bicycles for next century they should keep a closer eye on Nigeria. This conflict has been caused by the Ijaws and other tribes fighting “with each other and the federal government.” (“Double…”) I chose this as my project because this conflict has not been in the news often like other conflicts such as the conflict with Columbia, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, and North Korea. This conflict doesn’t seem to bring the media’s attention, but I think the United States should keep a closer eye on Nigeria. I wanted to learn more on this conflict since oil is an important resource in America and through my research felt angered at the Nigerian government for their actions toward the people of Nigeria.
Oil producing countries generate a large portion of their of their revenue from sale of oil. One such country is Nigeria; however the people suffer greatly because the country lives in poverty while the government becomes wealthier. The Ojaws have felt that some of the money produced by oil belongs to Nigeria. Nigerians will not allow the government to steal money that belongs to the people. Nigeria is in danger of being corrupt. When oil is discovered in a country that is “poor, (and) fighting over scraps,” (“Double…”) we would think it would be the end of poverty, but not so with Nigeria. Nigeria “pulls in $14 billion a year in oil revenue.”(“Double…”) I blame the Nigerian government for not putting an end to poverty. Nigeria’s new wealth has been taken by “politicians, in particular by the country’s military, brought to power in the country’s late 1960s civil war,” (“Rough…”) who have been robbing the country’s finance ever since. There is no reason that the people of Nigeria should be poor, because the oil has been found on their land and belongs to the people of Nigeria.
The Ijaws used to be a “easygoing minority tribes, earning their living with other tribes by fishing in canoes harbored in the board delta of the Nigerian River,” (“Rough…”) but that was forty years ago. Most of the country’s production comes from the Nigerian Delta which is now causing violent outbursts. The Ijaws are now destroying pipelines, setting fire to pipelines, protesting, selling oil they steal from pipelines and even kidnapping people. The country is in total chaos. Crime and Violence has caused a “20 percent drop in Nigeria’s oil production” (“Rough…”) which meant “a shortfall of 455,000 barrels daily.” (“Danger”) They have even stepped up their attacks on foreign oil. Even Shell announced an evacuation in February of 2006 to evacuate “an oil platform off its Atlantic coast as a precaution, shutting an additional 115,000 barrels a day.” (“Nigeria…”) In January, “militants held four men- from the United States, Britain, Bulgaria, and Honduras for 19 days before releasing them unharmed.” (“Nigeria…”) Tribes like the Ijaws, that were once peaceful are now armed and have been fighting for years claiming to be fighting “for better distribution of the country’s wealth.” (Mouawad) I was shocked when I found out that even “groups who claim to be fighting for the interests of Niger Delta’s people” (“Militants…”) have actually “evolved into criminal gangs, adept at stealing huge amounts of oil to sell on black markets, the proceeds of which are used to buy ever more sophisticated weapons.” (“Danger…”)
Even though the United States is not involved in the conflict, this conflict does affect the United States. Nigeria is the fifth largest supplier of oil “to the United States, after Mexico, Venezuela, Canada, and Saudi Arabia.” (Mouawad) Almost half of Nigeria’s oil is sent to the United States. Nigerian oil is prized by refiners because “it is of a light, sweet variety that is easier and cheaper to refine that the thicker and sulfur-rich kind that comes from the Middle East and Venezuela.” (Mouawad) Nigeria determines the price of oil in the United States. The United should keep a closer eye on Nigeria if they want to oil prices in America to go down. Nigeria has played an important role Africa and “is crucial to all of West Africa, having provided the military troops and negotiating forums to quell civil war and related violence in neighboring countries.” (“Danger…”) Nigeria has also helped on fighting terrorism by trying to “monitor and defuse an encroaching fundamentalism among its own Muslims.” (“Danger…“) Several American companies haves stakes in Nigeria such as “Mobil, Chevron Texaco and Halliburton.” (“Double…“) In my opinion the United States is not doing anything to stop oil from rising. I believe the United States should be more involved with the conflict in Nigeria.
I was shocked when I found out that everyone that claims to be helping Nigeria are only thinking about themselves leaving everyone in the country to defend for themselves. Oil has ruined Nigeria. The government has betrayed Nigeria from their share of oil. Even the people who took law in to their own hands to take revenge against the government have betrayed the country. The Ijaws who were once a peaceful tribe have evolved into a criminal gang. Meanwhile the rest of the world has done nothing to try and stop chaos. The rest of the world has ignored this conflict for too long, and are now paying the price at the pump. Why is Nigeria living in poverty? When Nigeria brings more than enough revenue to put an end to poverty among its citizens.

Sentence 3: Comma after "is" can go away.
Sentence 6: Semicolon after "modern life" should be inserted.
Sentence 8: The USA is at war with Iraq and Afghanistan. Israel is at war with Lebanon. Read the papers.
Note 1: Change words such as "don’t" to do not. You can use "don’t", but it can get on an English instructor’s nerves if you do.

Other than those problems, I do not see much else wrong with this essay. For future references be sure to check your spelling and grammar, that makes a big difference in your essays.

What are the benefits of constantly attempting to prove superiority? Why do some people spend their entire lives resisting change and hating people because they are different from themselves. This is insanity at its finest, but yet it seems so commonplace. While people are bickering over who is superior/inferior that small 10% of the population who benefit from racial stereotypes and propaganda are living it up and laughing at the fools who actually think their "race" is superior. Are people really this dense? Are we really this disillusioned? There are so many atrocities going on in the world, wouldn’t we ALL benefit from peace. While we are on this earth, why not have a lovely life and try to coexist?

Who benefits from hate? Someone apparently does. Who benefits form everyday people bickering over race? Why are stereotypes CONSTANTLY perpetuated in the media? Why? What is the reason for this? Why invest so much time into painting a particular race a certain way?

There are constant, overdone stereotypes of all minorities that literally effect their lives in very real ways. There aren’t any that affect white people in detrimental ways. There is a reason for that.

You have people from all over the world (including Africans) who come to America with preconceived notions about black people simply due to the way we are represented in the media. This is not an accident.

I don’t have anything against white people. I just call it how I see it. White people are allowed to be "individuals" but yet, I walk out into the world and I have so many negative experiences and assumptions about who I am based on the way people like me are portrayed on the television. I have to prove my humanness. I can’t just be an individual, I have to disprove stereotypes every single day. In the workplace, at school, being followed while shopping with my HARD earned money.

Day in and day out, for possibly the rest of my life. It takes a toll psychologically. It’s like I can’t get away from whiteness lol, I just want to live my life in peace..

Racism and Sterotyping exists because it can and we let it exist. If something ike that can exist, it will. We allow it to exist by not looking upon it negatively. After all, the only people who look upon that negatively are the people offended by that racism/sterotyping, so the person sees a negative response from that group and associates negativeness with them. Everyone is different and there is no denying that. We do not instinctly believe we are"all equal", but we would like to believe so so that we may better ouselves as a species so that is the way we teach things, now…The reason sterotypes exist is to "portray the people of a certain race", but it does not portray those people, instead it portrays the race. Every individual is different and that is why sterotypes are inaccurate and unfair to us as invdividuals, but individuals only.
